City Government Meetings Schedule and Current Agendas:

The City of Grover Beach encourages all residents and interested parties to participate in City government meetings. Your participation and presence are essential to good government!

Please note: Agendas are in PDF format. You will need Acrobat Reader to read them. If you do not have this program downloaded on your computer, you may download it free of charge from Adobe's website at Acrobat Reader.

  • City Council/Improvement Agency meets at 6:30 pm on the first and third Mondays of each month. If either of those Mondays is a holiday, the meeting is usually held on the following evening. [Agenda-Council]

    To view a specific staff report on the current agenda:
    - Just "click" on the staff report title. Please note, staff reports may be large files that take some time to download.
    - Contact the City Clerk's Office at (805) 473-4567 if you have any problem accessing a file.
    - A public counter copy of the complete agenda packet is available during regular business hours in the City Management Office at City Hall.

    Government Cable Access Channel 20: City Council meetings are broadcast live on cable television. Rebroadcasts are as follows:

  • Every day the week of a City Council meeting at:
    9:00 a.m., 6:00 p.m., and 1:00 a.m.
  • The week after a regular meeting:
    Thursdays and Sundays only - 9:00 a.m., 6:00 p.m., and 1:00 a.m.
  • The South County library also has check-out copies of previous meetings in either VHS or DVD format.

  • Planning Commission meets each second Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Chambers. [Agenda-Planning Commission].

  • Parks, Recreation & Beautification Commission meets each fourth Thursday at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Chambers. [Agenda-Parks, Recreation & Beautification]

  • Traffic Committee meetings are scheduled only as needed at 9:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the Conference Room at City Hall. For more information, contact the Administrative Secretary in the Police Department at (805) 473-4507. [Agenda-Traffic Committee].

  • Citizen Oversight Committee on Half-Percent Sales Tax meetings are scheduled as needed (but not less than once annually) and held in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Official copies of agendas are posted in the bulletin boards at both entrances to City Hall, 154 South 8th Street, Grover Beach, CA. As a service to Internet users, the agendas are also posted on this web site. Every effort is made to upload the information in a timely fashion. However, the official, time-sensitive posting of agendas continues to be the posting that takes place at City Hall.

  • 2008 Spring Garden Tour & Plant Exchange!
    When: Sunday, June 1, 2008; 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. (rain or shine!)
    Where: Residential homes and business throughout Grover Beach.

    Map / Garden Descriptions. Maps are available at City Hall, Miner's Hardware, and local nurseries.

    Join other Grover Beach residents at our annual Spring Garden Tour and take a self-guided tour of the beautiful local gardens chosen for display by the Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission. Following the tour, bring a plant or cutting and exchange it for a new and different plant at the Plant Exchange.

    Again this year we will have demonstrating artists on location at specific gardens. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (805) 473-4580.

  • June 3, 2008 Primary Election
    Polls will be open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. throughout the County.

  • Slo County Food Bank - Hunger Awareness Day -
    One Dollar, One Day - Challenge to Feed the Hungry. The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County is challenging everyone to give $1 on this one day to feed 25,000 hungry people in our County alone.

  • Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series - Don't miss out on our FREE concert series, co-sponsored with the Grover Beach Chamber of Commerce. All concerts will be held at the Ramona Garden Park Center, 993 Ramona Avenue in Grover Beach. A play area for children will be available.

    Food and drink will be available for sale with all proceeds used to offset the cost of series. All ages are welcome! Bring a beach chair or a blanket and spend an enjoyable summer evening listening to great music.

  • Whale Tail Grants Program
    The California Coastal Commission sponsors a program that distributes funds from the sale of Whale Tail License Plates. Grants support programs that teach California children and the general public to value and take action to improve the health of the state's marine and coastal resources. Adopt-A-Beach programs, California Coastal Cleanup Day, as well as other beach maintenance and coastal habitat restoration projects that have an educational component, are also eligible for these grants.
