City Council Adopts 2018-19 Budget

On June 19, 2018, the Grover Beach City Council adopted a balanced budget for the coming fiscal year, which begins July 1.

The $34.5 million citywide operating budget includes $11.4 million in the City’s General Fund, $6.3 million in the Enterprise Fund including Water and Wastewater Funds, and $1.7 million in Special Revenue Funds outside of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The five-year CIP includes $16 million in funding for key capital projects in 2018-19, which is nearly half of the total citywide budget for the coming fiscal year. Approximately $8 million will be used to fund street repairs this next year.

The Budget maintains current service levels with a 2% average increase in operating costs and includes additional funding to improve the level of fire and emergency medical services provided to the community. The budget also adheres to the Council’s policy goal of reserves equaling 20% of operating expenditures.
