Although there are no vacancies currently being advertised, the City of Grover Beach accepts and maintains applications for one (1) year for the positions of full-time Police Officer and part-time Reserve Police Officer. Following written & physical agility testing and subsequent oral board (scheduled as needed) qualified candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list for immediate & future openings.

Entry-level and Reserve Candidates: Must be currently enrolled in a POST accredited academy, or be a POST academy graduate within the last two years, or hold a current Basic POST certificate.

Lateral Candidates: Must possess current CA Basic POST certificate, must be actively employed as a sworn Police Officer, and have a minimum of one year full-time experience with a California law enforcement agency as sworn Police Officer.

Bilingual highly desirable but not required. Officers retired from other/non-PERS agencies welcome to apply. Must submit proof of current standing with application.

Rate of Pay: $8.00 - $11.00/hour

The City is accepting applications to fill two part-time openings for coverage at the South County Skate Park. The Skate Park Attendant will work approx. 10-20 hrs/week, including weekends and holidays, to collect fees, monitor safety of skaters, and enforce park rules. Must be responsible, dependable, friendly person at least 18 years of age, and able to work independently; must have CPR & First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire; and possession of, or ability to obtain, Class C California driver's license prior to appointment.
