2008 Spring Garden Tour & Plant Exchange
When: Sunday, June 1, 2008; 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. (rain or shine!)
Where: Residential homes and businesses throughout Grover Beach.
Maps will be available at City Hall, Miner’s Hardware, and local nurseries on May 28th.
Join other Grover Beach residents at our annual Spring Garden Tour and take a self-guided tour of the beautiful local gardens chosen for display by the Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission. Following the tour, bring a plant or cutting and exchange it for a new and different plant at the Plant Exchange.
Again this year we will have demonstrating artists on location at specific gardens. If you are interested in being a demonstrating artist, please send an artist statement and samples of your work to: Grover Beach Parks and Recreation, Garden Tour, 154 S. 8th Street, Grover Beach, CA 93433.
Deadline for nomination is Thursday, May 15. If you know of a garden that should be considered for the tour, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (805) 473-4580 or submit a Beautification Award - Nomination Form.
Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series - Don't miss out on our free concert series, co-sponsored with the Grover Beach Chamber of Commerce. All concerts will be held at the Ramona Garden Park Center, 993 Ramona Avenue, Grover Beach. A play area will be available for children.
Food and drink will be available for sale with all proceeds used to offset the cost of the series. Bands begin playing at 3:00 p.m. and play until 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. Bring a beach chair or a blanket and spend an enjoyable summer evening listening to great music.
