Measure K-14 Street Rehabilitation Program
Measure K-14 Street Rehabilitation Program
After a series of public meetings, workshops, and a citizen survey to encourage public input regarding the community's street repair priorities, the City Council approved a "Blended Approach" for the selection of streets to be repaired. This approach designates approximately 30% towards streets designated as high community priorities, 10% for streets needing maintenance, and 60% for rehabilitating streets identified as being in "critical" condition.

On June 1, 2015, the City Council approved the initial street segments for rehabilitation and repair with design and construction costs funded through the sale of municipal bonds (voter-approved Bond Measure K-14, November 2014). Construction was completed in December 2015 on the first set of prioritized street segments (Project 2015-1) rehabilitated.

On January 4, 2016, the Council awarded the construction contract for the next set of prioritized street segments (Project 2015-2) and received an Updated Map of designated streets included in the Street Rehabilitation and Repair Program, as well as streets designated to receive light maintenance. Significant street construction work is underway as seen in the following photos.

On June 6, 2016, the Council awarded the contract to complete light road maintenance on approximately 60 blocks of residential streets, which includes crack sealing, slurry seals, localized pavement repair, and pavement markings - 2015-3 City-wide Light Maintenance Program Slurry Seal Schedule
