Commission or Committee Vacancies Are you interested in serving as a volunteer on a City Commission? All Grover Beach residents are encouraged to apply! Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Interviews will be scheduled to fill the following Commission term(s):

How to Apply for a Position on a City Advisory Body:
Complete an Application Form to serve on a City Advisory Body, by downloading the form from the City website, come to City Hall to pick up a blank form, or have the form mailed to you. You may attach supplemental information regarding your qualifications. Completed forms must be submitted to:
  • City Clerk's Office, 154 South 8th Street, Grover Beach, CA 93433.

Interview Process:
All applicants will be interviewed by the City's Advisory Body Screening Committee with recommendation to, and final appointment determined by, the City Council at a Regular City Council meeting. The Advisory Body Screening Committee consists of the Mayor, one Council Member selected by random drawing, and usually the Chair of the Commission or Committee for which interviews are being conducted.

Recruitment Process:
When a vacancy occurs or a term will be expiring, a Notice of Vacancy for a City Commission or Committee is advertised in the local newspapers, the City's Government Cable Access Channel 20, and the City's website. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Residents with applications on file within the past 12-month period will be contacted in the event interviews are being scheduled to fill a vacancy or vacancies.
