In the event heavier than normal rainfall is forecast for the Central Coast - Grover Beach businesses and residents are cautioned to be better prepared for potential flooding by placing sandbags along their property.
- Empty sandbags may be purchased at: Miner's Hardware Store or Farm Supply in Grover Beach and Arroyo Grande. In case of an emergency, empty sandbags may be obtained at the Grover Beach Police Department located at 711 Rockaway Avenue (corner of South 8th Street and Rockaway Avenue).
- Sand for the sandbags may be obtained from excess sand blown onto the streets near main entryways to the State Beach - West Grand Avenue in Grover Beach and also on Pier Avenue, west of Highway 1, in Oceano. Do not gather sand directly from the beach!
If you are loading sandbags along the street, please be cautious! Make sure the hazard lights on your vehicle are on, close vehicle doors, and be observant of oncoming traffic or other activity in the area.

Water Conservation Alert - As of June 2007, the City of Grover Beach is at a Stage I Water Alert. All residents and business owners are requested to voluntarily conserve water. Conserving water can save you money today and ensure an adequate water supply for our future.
