The City of Grover Beach annually recognizes four outstanding employees who embody the principles of public service and have dedicated themselves to providing outstanding customer service to our community and co-workers over the past year. This process also acknowledges all those City employees who were nominated by their peers. On December 12th, a City awards ceremony was held to recognize all employees who were nominated and to announce the 2003 Outstanding City Employees in the following four categories: 2003 Employees of the Year:
City Hall - Elaine Rojas, Revenue Technician.
Public Works - Pete Yracheta, Jr., Maintenance Worker II.
Police Department -Laura Vinnedge, Administrative Secretary.
Fire Department - Jesse Laxamana, Engineer. Additionally, the Police and Fire Departments annually recognize outstanding employees from within their respective Departments. As this newsletter goes to print, the Fire Department's Firefighter of the Year has not yet been announced; however, the following Police Department employees were recently recognized at a Department ceremony:
