Street Maintenance and Repair

In the current fiscal year, as reported to the City Council by the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments, Grover Beach spent more money per capita on local street maintenance than any other community in the County!

A comprehensive status update on these efforts was presented to the City Council at its meeting on May 3, 2004. The map included in this edition of the Sea Breeze speaks louder than words regarding our accomplishments in this area. And although a lot of work is still ahead of us, the accomplishments should not be overlooked. The City Council is committed to continuing an aggressive program of local street maintenance and repair.

It should also be noted that the City's Local Street Maintenance Funds were not used for the landscaping, medians, lights, and street furniture being installed along West Grand Avenue between 8th and 11th Streets. The City was successful in obtaining state and federal funding for these improvements.
