Did You Know . . .

. . . private party signs located on or extending over the public right -of-way are prohibited within the City of Grover Beach? Enforcement of this aspect of the Municipal Code is now underway. The Fire Department will be removing any sign that violates this section of the Code, including garage sale signs, real estate signs, political signs, or any other advertisement sign, including A-frame, sandwich-style boards on public sidewalks in front of businesses.

All signs collected will be held at the Fire Station located at 701 Rockaway. However, please be aware that signs will only be held for two weeks, after which time the Fire Department will destroy and dispose of the signs in a proper manner.

The best way to avoid the expense of losing your sign is to ensure proper placement on private property or obtain an encroachment permit from the Community Development Department. If you have any questions regarding the City’s sign regulations, please do not hesitate to contact the Fire Department Administration Office at (805) 473-4590.
