In recognition of National Fire Prevention Month, the Fire Departments that serve the communities of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, and Pismo Beach have joined forces to present the "Annual South County Fire Prevention Open House." This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Prime Outlets of Pismo Beach.

The Open House will feature static displays of fire equipment from Fire Departments within the counties of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. Children will enjoy firefighting demonstrations, vehicle extrication demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, and be able to tour the Fire Safety House. The Fire Departments will also host a barbeque to benefit on-going fire prevention activities.
