On April 18, 2005, the City Council approved a lease agreement between the City and Chamber that would in essence “swap” the use of buildings owns by both parties. That means that by May 12, 2005, the Chamber will be set up for business in its new location adjacent to the train station, and the City will have use of the old Chamber building across the street from City Hall for storage and related needs. A win-win! With the City’s push for revitalizing the West Grand Avenue corridor, this move is particularly exciting. The Chambers’ presence at such key transportation hub (not to mention the enhanced visibility to travelers along Highway One) provides the opportunity to tout the services and amenities Grover Beach has to offer. Keeping visitors in the community supports our local businesses while increasing sales and motel tax revenues for general purposes such as streets, public safety, and parks.
