Did you know that 2005 marks the 21st year that Grover Beach has received the Tree City USA Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation? If you love trees, you'll be happy to know that tree planting opportunities are available year round in Grover Beach Parks. The Parks and Recreation Department offers an Annual Arbor Day Celebration in April where one or more trees are planted in honor of Arbor Day; however, community groups and local citizens are encouraged to plant trees year round.

For groups or individuals who would like to memorialize a special person or event, the Dedicate-A-Tree program is available. The tree dedication program is an opportunity for community members, businesses, or civic groups to donate a tree to be placed in a City park. Families can dedicate a tree as a gift to the community in their name or in the name of a deceased loved one. The Department will plant the tree and coordinate a ceremony if appropriate. The City will maintain the tree at the location designated.
