A Mild, Mediterranean Climate

Grover Beach residents and visitors enjoy a mild, Mediterranean climate with cool summers and an average rainfall of 20 inches a year.

Year-Round Activities

Grover Beach activities and festivals attract the entire family. Enjoy year-round golf, horseback rides on the beach, four-wheel ATVs in the sand dunes, or just leisurely strolls along an uncrowded beach. View breathtaking sunsets over the Pacific Ocean from the Beach Boardwalk. Visit the Monarch Butterfly Grove from November through February to see one of the largest overwintering migration sites of Monarch butterflies filling the air with colorful bursts of orange and black. There’s also a wide array of wineries, restaurants, and shops to experience and explore.

Spring Garden Tours

Tour beautifully manicured private gardens and participate in a plant exchange. Demonstrating artists and master gardeners are scheduled to be on site at various gardens. Admission is free.

Free Summer Concert Series

The City hosts a free summer concert series at the Ramona Garden Park each year from June through September, which also includes a Farmers’ Market of fresh local produce and artisan products.

Stone Soup Music Faire

The City of Grover Beach and the South County Chambers of Commerce host the Stone Soup Music Faire each summer at the Ramona Garden Park. This two-day event celebrates diversity through food, crafts, and music from around the world. Homemade craft and food booths fill Ramona Garden Park and spill out onto the street, along with the sounds of Latin, African, Australian, Scottish, jazz, and country-western music. Dancing in the streets is encouraged!

Dune Run Run

The event features a 5K / 10K run or walk. The Annual "Dune Run Run" takes participants through city streets, the Beach Boardwalk, soft sand dunes, and hard-packed sand right along the scenic edge of the Pacific Ocean.
