Measure K-14 Street Rehabilitation Program

YOUR TAX DOLLAR$ AT WORK

On November 4, 2014 Grover Beach voters approved Measure K-14, the Grover Beach Street Rehabilitation; Safety Improvement Bond Measure. In approving the measure, the City was authorized to issue up to $48 million in bond funds for the repair of local streets over the next 25 years. To date the City Council has approved the issuance of three bonds totaling $28 million in funds.

Completed Projects
As outlined in the Completed K-14 Street Bond Project Map (PDF), the City has expended a total of $20 million in bond funds for maintenance and repair of 200 blocks, representing 47% of all local streets.

Current Measure K-14 Street Rehabilitation Projects
The City Council adopted the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Program which identifies next round of street rehabilitation projects as outlined below:

Project identified by City Council 5/21/2018

Project design services was awarded by City Council to Rick Engineering on 10/5/2020

Construction contract was awarded by City Council to JJ Fisher Construction on 4/12/2021

Weekly Construction Update:  

  • Week of July 19th:  South 11th will be paved on Monday, 7/19 and 10thStreet will be paved on Tuesday 7/20.  The contractor will be raising the utilities covers after paving.  This week concrete demolition on Trouville Avenue will also begin.
  • Week of July 26th: On Monday and Tuesday mornings, the road will be closed at 12th & Trouville on the west side of the intersection while the contractor constructs a new cross gutter. The contractor will continue with demo, grading and concrete improvements on Trouville.  The contractor will also work on the traffic loops on 10th and S. 11th
  • Week of August 2nd:  The contractor will continue with demo, grading, and concrete improvements on Trouville.
