NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Grover Beach encourages residents to apply to serve on City Commissions and Committees. When vacancies occur, the City recruits for applicants by publishing a Notice of Vacancies in the local newspapers, as well as posting the notice on the City’s bulletin board outside of City Hall, on the City’s website and Government Cable Access Channel 20. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the City of Grover Beach is currently seeking residents interested in serving on the Grover Beach Planning Commission:
- Two (2) seat on the Planning Commission are currently open due to one unscheduled vacancy and one vacancy due to termination of the commission seat. Terms on the Commission are four-year periods with one term ending on May 31, 2025, and one seat term ending on May 31, 2027, with no term limits.
The Planning Commission is a body of five (5) residents that meet on a monthly basis, on the First Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with special meetings as needed. The Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council along with serving as a planning body that makes land use decisions. The Planning Commission also reviews and makes recommendations on the community's General Plan. Major areas of involvement are real estate development projects and business uses. Interviews with interested applicants are typically held before a City Screening Committee, with recommendations forwarded to the City Council for consideration and appointment(s) at a regular City Council meeting. Applicants must be registered voters of the City of Grover Beach.
